Romantic Luxe: Marbled Candles Tutorial

Do you dream in fairy tales? Do you wish upon a star for the perfect lights and decor to recreate those fanciful landscapes?

Our latest photoshoot took us through the proverbial enchanted forest to a Romantic Luxe event that is truly a product of magic.

Our fairy godmother and photographer, Charra, illuminated tables with the enchanting design of marbled taper candles. The secret? Nail polish.

Her DIY tutorial - sorry, magic potion - is a simple way to add a touch of pixie dust to your wedding, party or costume ball.

Follow the steps below to make your very own ... you'll be delighted with the results!

1. The Ingredients

  • 1. Wax Taper Candles (the navy blue candles are fairy godmother recommended)
  • 2. Plastic Cup Filled With Water
  • 3. Tons of Nail Polish (bring your color game!)
  • Additionally: Paper Towels

2. Add a Dash (or More) of Color!

This is the fun part: add as much and as many color varieties as you like! Use the brush to add drops of nail polish to the water.

3. Fairy Godmother's Tip

Tap the sides of the cup (lightly) to spread the colors. Don't worry about stirring the mixture; the marble effect naturally happens when the candle is submerged.

4. Where the Magic Happens

Slowly dip and drag the candle base through the color mixture.

5. Fairy Godmother's Tip
